For example, you may only get 50% of your money back if you cancel a trip with a two-week cancellation policy, and it’s only a week away.
Also, if you cancel your trip, you will not get a refund for promotional credits, and your coupon will not be re-usable.
However, if your host cancels your trip for any reason, you will get your coupon or promotional credit back. Then, you have two options.
- You can transfer your payment to a new Airbnb reservation instantly. If the new reservation is cheaper, you will be refunded the difference between the old reservation and the new reservation.
- You can request a full refund. To do so, log into Airbnb from a computer. Then, navigate to Your Trips, find your canceled reservation, and click Request A Refund. You’ll be refunded your original payment amount.
So, if you want to make sure you are able to use your coupon from Airbnb, avoid canceling any trips that you booked while using a promotional code! And don't worry--you’ll be able to re-use your code if your host cancels.
