Labor Day Deals to Satisfy Your Tech Obsession Without Breaking the Bank
We always anticipate Labor Day for the welcome break from work and all the great sales that come with it. Traditionally, retailers give big discounts on home furnishings, appliances, mattresses, outdoor furniture and more. There are thousands of items up for grabs, but you’ll find some of the best deals on tech.
Tech-obsessed folks wait for any opportunity to buy new gear, because it’s hard to keep up with new models coming out all the time. Enter Labor Day sales, where smart shoppers will be able to score deals on everything, from headphones and desktop computers to 4K TVs and laptops. We’ve put together a list of the best tech deals you’ll find this Labor Day. Read on for our top tips on the most popular tech items.
1. Look at Laptops
Nothing beats the appeal of laptops, because they offer the most flexibility for your life. Taking Zoom calls from your home office? Working from the local coffee shop? Waiting to pick up the kids from school? A laptop offers portable convenience, so you can work any time you want from any location you need.
Lenovo has rolled out laptop deals that can save you as much as 50% on the best-selling ThinkPad X13 with an Intel processor, which is perfect for business, or the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 8, the brand’s first mobility-certified laptop. If you’re looking for something for students, Lenovo has Chromebooks for less than $220 or Lenovo 14w for under $240.
And, even though it’s not exactly laptop savings, we’re going to cheat a little to share more discounts. Right now, you can score tech accessories like tablet covers, a Bluetooth mouse and wireless earbuds for up to 80% off. Plus, you’ll find monitors for 20% off and tablets for up to 25% off.
In addition to these deals, you’ll also get free shipping on all your orders and additional discounts for students, first responders, teachers and seniors.
2. Don’t Miss Desktop Deals
For all the beauty of laptops, sometimes you need the computing power found only in a solid, workhorse desktop. While not as sleek as a laptop, a trusty desktop generally costs less than a laptop and provides a faster, smoother interface for getting work done. Plus, you can pretty easily upgrade desktops to meet your changing needs, which is something you can’t do with a laptop.
Business and home users will find a lot of value shopping at Dell. New Inspiron Desktops can be had for 30% off, which is a steal compared to a laptop with the same components. And you can’t have a desktop without buying a monitor. You’ll enjoy even greater savings on peripherals, like a 25-inch monitor that can be yours for up to 45% off.
Serious gamers can also upgrade their equipment with savings of 25% on Alienware Aurora Gaming Desktops. Add a 25-inch gaming monitor and enjoy 45% off its price, too. Plus, grab an Alienware gaming keyboard for about $200 to get everything you need to play.
Dell also has free shipping on any purchase, plus a free express shipping upgrade on select items. Make sure to check out our page, where you’ll find a Dell coupon code for $50 off certain laptops and desktops valued at $699 or more. You can also browse for specials on service contracts, like two years of premium support for the price of one.
3. Hit Your Target
Sometimes, you just have to hit one of the big box retailers to satisfy all your tech desires. We’ve already highlighted all the ways you can save every day with the Target app. While those daily deals are not to be missed, Target’s Labor Day sales ramp up the savings on special categories, like electronics.
This year, Target has already reduced the price on some of its bestselling TVs. For example, you can get an Element 32-Inch HD LED Roku TV for $189.99. But, we all know bigger is better. Shop for a Sony 55-inch Bravia 4K Ultra HD Google Smart TV and save more than $600. You can also check out the discounts on several VIZIO TV models, with a VIZIO V-Series 58-inch 4K HDR Smart TV on sale for $529.00 and a VIZIO D-Series 32-inch HD LED Smart TV for $179.99.
Target hasn’t released its full list of tech items that will be discounted this Labor Day. But you can expect specials on laptops, wearables, gaming systems and more. Last year, Target advertised Beats Studio3 headphones for $150 off.
On top of all the holiday savings, Target will also continue offering free in-store and curbside pickup, as well as same day delivery on certain items.
4. Walk In to Walmart
We can’t talk about big box retailers without mentioning Walmart. You already know you can save a bundle when you buy groceries at Walmart and use the Walmart app. In addition to those savings tips, we also have some ways guaranteed to help you save on tech this Labor Day.
Like Target, Walmart has some stellar deals on TV, like a Sony 49-inch UHD LED Android Smart TV for more than $150 off. There are a number of TCL TVs offered for significant discounts. The TCL 55-inch Class 5-Series 4K HDR Roku Smart TV is over $100 off, as is the TCL 55-inch Class 4-Series. If you’re in the market for an LG 55-inch Class 4K Smart OLED TV, you can get one for $500 off.
Walmart’s complete list of Labor Day discounts hasn’t been revealed, but last year featured savings of up to 30% on TVs, $40 off the Apple Watch Series 5 and $50 off Powerbeats Pro wireless earphones.
